Migrate Existing Tag Structures and Parameters into the Industrial Application Server Using the ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility
The ArchestrA® Bulk Import Utility is a tool for transforming tag definitions from an existing HMI application, such as Wonderware’s InTouch® software, RS View, WinCC or iFix into an Industrial Application Server (IAS) object structure. This utility enables the migration of an existing tag structure and parameters, saving considerable engineering time and effort.
The tool is comprised of a Tag Import Wizard that brings in the tags and helps the user map them to the IAS object structure. The Tag import wizard provides mapping for InTouch customers, which can also be used with other HMI applications that users want to migrate to the Industrial Application Server. These additional mappings can be created individually by system integrators (SIs) and Wonderware Sales Consultants. As they are created, they can be shared via the ArchestrA Community Website in the Downloads section.
The ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility also contains a filtering mechanism to aid in the creation and organization of the object. It does so by taking the “raw” tags and placing them in a structure. The utility then assigns these structured tags to existing templates in the Industrial Application Server.
