Overview
A History of Open Connectivity
Since its inception, Wonderware's philosophy on connectivity has been to maximize our customers' choices. Specializing in open software solutions, Wonderware prides itself on offering customers the broadest possible communication options for industrial automation and information devices.
In collaboration with more than 100 third-party product developers, Wonderware provides the largest selection of connectivity options to hundreds of the most popular control systems. Wonderware has also fully embraced the openness of OPC technology by offering products that leverage OPC server and client capabilities.
Wonderware offers tremendous benefits by providing hundreds of DA Servers (Data Access Servers) and I/O Servers as well as OPC connectivity to meet the varying needs of the industrial marketplace. As a result of these connectivity and integration benefits, VARs, OEMs and end-users can connect to a multitude of industrial devices and PLCs, and other automation systems.

Solution Portfolio for Software and Device Connectivity
Wonderware's software and device connectivity solution portfolio provides a comprehensive solution for your plant-floor needs. It includes solutions for device connectivity, third-party software applications and business systems integration, as well as open extensions enabling customized solutions. Because Wonderware embraces Microsoft's technology and open standards such as OPC, our software and device connectivity solutions are flexible and consist of many options for integration with existing plant-floor systems and software applications.
Wonderware's device and software connectivity offering comprises:
- Wonderware® DA Servers and I/O Servers, which connect to hundreds of plant devices and control systems;
- Connectivity to OPC clients and servers to facilitate integration with third-party systems and applications;
