The Wonderware Historian Powerful Data Analysis & Reporting Clients

Integrated Solution for Improving Plant Performance

The Wonderware Historian— is a key component of any Production and Performance Management Software Solution. Wonderware is the only vendor to offer a complete range of production and performance management capabilities built on a single, open and scalable software architecture — the ArchestrA® software architecture.

The Wonderware Historian delivers tailored plant performance content throughout the enterprise using web browser technology

As the historian in Wonderware’s comprehensive software solutions, Wonderware Historian integrates seamlessly with a comprehensive set of Wonderware® software, including.

  • Trending and Reporting with ActiveFactory Software
    The ActiveFactory™ software's plant data trending and reporting software, tightly integrated with the Wonderware Historian, facilitates the creation of trend plots and reports in minutes, which can then posted on the Web or displayed on the InTouch HMI.
  • Statistical Process Control and Quality Assurance with QI Analyst Software
    Wonderware's QI Analyst™ real-time SPC tool uses process data from the Wonderware Historian and other plant data sources to provide valuable process variation graphs and information to everyone in the plant.
  • Downtime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Management with the Equipment Performane Module                                                                                                                                                 The Equipment Performance Module stores downtime and efficiency data within the Wonderware Historian to form a single plant-wide data repository.
  • Web Analysis via Wonderware Information Server                                                                            The Wonderware Information Server's TableWeaver feature organizes plant information within the Wonderware Historian and other Wonderware software into highly useful content. Thus, it enables users at all levels of an organization to understand and analyze real-time information to improve the performance of their facility.
  • Production Event Capturing with the Wonderware Equipment Operations Module
    The Wonderware Equipment Operations Module provides a set of configurable ArchestrA Objects designed to capture production events and genealogy data such as lot number, start and end of batch, materials used and then store this information in the Wonderware Historian database. ActiveFactory and Wonderware Information Server software are the visualization and reporting tools used to exploit this valuable production information.

According to AMR Research, Wonderware Production and Performance Management solutions using the Wonderware Historian can help increase productivity by 10% or more in high value or high volume production facilities.

Wonderware's ActiveFactory Trend functions help plant personnel focus on solving problems and optimizing plant performance rather than tracking down data. ActiveFactory software eliminates lengthy data searches by accelerating process troubleshooting and plant improvement activities with a simple but powerful data trending tool. When a critical issue develops, the employee can quickly access data from numerous Wonderware Historian databases and build a data trend display using simple drag-and-drop techniques, to quickly and efficiently illuminate process problems.

New support for multiple time periods permits comparisons between real-time and historical data based on the same process parameters, so that current performance can be contrasted with previous occurrences of superior performance. Operators can also benefit from the new historical playback mode, in which historical data can be played as if it were live, helping operators to better visualize important relationships between operational parameters.

Furthermore, the ActiveFactory software's Trend capability enables plotting of any combination of analog, discrete and event data from any number of Wonderware Historians.

Comments and Annotations can also be included on the Trend display to add operational context and improve data analysis. A full range of scaling, zooming and graphical configuration options empower users to create highly informative, professional-looking trend displays that can be shared with co-workers via e-mail or over the Web using the ActiveFactory Reporting Website or Wonderware's Information Server.

Furthermore, the QI Analyst software also offers comprehensive process-capability analysis and real-time process monitoring. It can also leverage historical data to transform common process data into valuable process information. Access to this critical information can empower plant employees to:

  • Improve manufacturing processes;
  • Boost plant performance;
  • Increase productivity; and
  • Reduce costs.

Powerful, Easy-to-Use Tools for Reporting

The Wonderware Historian provides a wide array of standard and customizable reports through the ActiveFactory client tool. Add-ins for Microsoft Word and Excel facilitate reports in these industry-standard formats.

Now, casual users throughout the enterprise can create and publish valuable management reports using data stored in the Wonderware Historian. The need for reporting "experts" is nearly eliminated. Reports can be posted to a variety of Web portals, including Wonderware's Information Server portal, for maximum productivity.
