Industry-Leading Connectivity Supports Enterprise-Wide SPC Implementations
Wonderware’s QI Analyst™ software is designed to connect to the widest range of open data sources available. Systems can be configured to collect process data from multiple data sources. You can create a new central process database to enhance system performance. Or, you can configure the system to connect to remote and/or legacy process data sources in order to minimize data redundancy. Either way, QI Analyst software provides the data source connectivity required in today’s highly decentralized IT environments.
QI Analyst software can easily access:
- Real-time InTouch® tag server data
- Historical process data in the Wonderware® Historian (also known as the IndustrialSQL Server™ and InSQL™ historian) and the Wonderware Industrial Application Server
- Any data source connected by ODBC (Object Database Connectivity) or OLE DB (Object-Linking and –Embedding Database) -- because QI Analyst software is an OPC® client
- Process data stored in Microsoft® SQL Server and Access™ database software, and Oracle® databases

Comprehensive SPC Analysis Functionality
Manufacturers and process facilities require a comprehensive selection of SPC charts and powerful statistical tools. QI Analyst 8.0 software delivers these tools and enables you to proactively manage process variations -– helping you to decrease costs and improve your competitiveness.
A large library of statistics can be displayed for the overall process or for any individual process parameter, aiding in continuous improvement efforts. Limit sets allow for the easy comparison of two sets of data, accelerating process analysis efforts. You can even save charts and workspaces as HTML files for easy posting within Web-based applications.

Centralized System Configuration for Efficient System Management
QI Analyst software provides a single configuration database, as well as system configuration and maintenance tools that can be accessed from any workstation on the network -- making configuration and routine maintenance easy and efficient.
Any QI Analyst Controller node can be given rights to modify and build the system configuration. Therefore, one or more system administrators can quickly build or maintain the application. Also, flexible security features give IT professionals more control, with tailored access that ensures each user gets the functionality they need.
Components
QI Analyst 8.0 software consists of:
- QI Analyst 8.0 Controller - This full-featured desktop application permits basic SPC activities (i.e., data entry, charting, statistical calculations, rule evaluations and alarming) as well as complete setup, configuration and administration capabilities. Controllers are recommended for Power Users, Quality Engineers and Administrators.
- QI Analyst 8.0 Workstation - Typically used on the plant floor, the Workstation enables basic SPC activities such as data entry, charting, statistical calculations, rule evaluations and alarming.
Versatile Chart Controls Deliver SPC Information throughout the Plant
Operators and plant decision-makers can keep tabs on key process parameters, enabling them to proactively manage product quality and plant performance through SPC charts provided by QI Analyst software. Because plant personnel are highly mobile, QI Analyst software provides versatile ActiveX® controls that can be used to embed SPC control charts in almost any custom industrial application. This includes HMI applications like InTouch® software, Web-based applications or any custom Visual Basic front-end application.
