Information Server 3.0
Advanced Web Analysis Software for Production and Performance Management
Wonderware's Information Server production and performance Web analysis software offers increased capabilities and support for other Wonderware production and performance software. It offers a single, scalable web environment for accessing reliable real-time and historical information with advanced capabilities for drill-down and root cause analysis.
The Wonderware Information Server software can facilitate access to a broad range of plant data sources including:
- Access to real-time and historical information from supervisory systems via charts, trends, data tables and graphical displays
- Information from the Wonderware Industrial Application Server, InTouch HMI software, I/O Servers, DDE servers and more
- Any database or historian that supports ADO/ODBC connections — such as the Wonderware Historian, InTouch alarm databases, Oracle databases and Microsoft SQL Server
Open interfaces like XML, OPC, OLE, SQL, Web Services, HTTP and SOAP allow Wonderware products to integrate with just about any third party system, application or database. In addition, most ACAD drawings and HTML reports that have been designed to be displayed over a browser can be embedded into the Wonderware Information Server.
Access Your Plant’s Process Graphics Anywhere at Any Time
Real-time visualization and control of your manufacturing process can now be delivered anywhere – via the web or company intranet. Operations, plant management and engineering personnel can have a direct view into critical plant processes allowing better collaboration and troubleshooting. Process graphics from InTouch can be easily imported into the Wonderware Information Server and served to a broad range of users. Even process adjustments can be accomplished remotely using Information Server’s optional write back functionality.
InTouch screens can even be incorporated into Web Parts and published to other web applications with automatic refresh of process values.
Data Analysis
Information Server integrates ActiveFactory time trends, X-Y Scatter plots, and batch trend capabilities into a single web based interface. Process data from the Wonderware Historian can also be charted in a variety of graphical displays using ActiveFactory Workbook and published to the Information Server web site. Equipment downtime and OEE metrics can be displayed along with traceability and genealogy data. Production events can be linked with a wide range of production data for in-depth process analyses.
Production and Performance Reporting
Reports from a host of Wonderware software solutions can be made available to plant personnel using the Wonderware Information Server. These include:
- ActiveFactory Workbook performance and analysis reports
- Dynamic, drill-through Table Weaver reports and data displays
- OEE and equipment downtime reports and KPI dashboards from the Equipment Performance Module
- Equipment Operations Module reporting include;
- Production events and formula reporting (usage & set-points)
- Material consumption including comparisons of “plan vs. actual”
- Consumption and genealogy of materials, equipment, personnel and production events related to a lot, batch or serial number
- Complete traceability and genealogy reporting to help you comply with governmental regulations
- Integration with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
- Leverage powerful report configuration capabilities of Reporting Services
- Simplified connectivity to the Wonderware Historian
- Integrated historian tag navigation, date/time selection and simple dropdown selection of powerful Wonderware Historian data retrieval modes
- Publish reports to Information Server web site or save on local PC
Secure and Easy to Implement Web Solution
The Wonderware Information Server is delivered with safeguards built-in to protect information from unauthorized access, prevent users without privileges from performing certain functions, and to keep plant information safe and secure. Security features include;
- Integrated Microsoft Windows NT authentication - Users must be authenticated before they can access the Wonderware Information Server
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Digital Certificates and Single Sign-On protections
- Firewall-friendly - The portal can be placed inside a DMZ
- Portal roles - The portal administrator assigns Read, Write and Administration privileges
- Publishing rights - Users must be assigned remote and local publishing privileges
Information Server software is exceptionally easy to use and enables plant personnel to quickly build a plant information web site by providing the entire web site framework, home page and configuration tools out of the box. From the Information Server home page, web site administrators can easily point and click to configure the web site and instantly obtain real-time and historical plant information. In fact, Information Server was designed to be configured by users with no programming knowledge.
The Information Server administrator can customize the web site by:
- Altering the banner
- Adding a company logo
- Changing the color scheme
- Replacing the home page
- Adding links to published reports, documents, resources and other websites
- Creating panels that segment information to match specific requirements and the users' viewing preferences
The Wonderware Information Server 3.0 software also detects the language of the browser client and automatically displays the web site text in that language. Languages supported include English, German, French, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.
For advanced users, an Application Toolkit and the Web Service Toolkit is included with the Wonderware Information Server software. The Application Toolkit enables programmers to create applications that can be embedded directly into a Wonderware Information Server Web Content Server. The Web Service Toolkit allows programmers to create Web services that can be used by any Wonderware Information Server application. These toolkits give companies the ability to customize their plant information and applications to fit their unique needs.
Integration with Business Systems
The Wonderware Information Server can integrate easily within existing business portal — such as those using Microsoft SharePoint and SAP NetWeaver software -- to provide a single visualization tool throughout the organization. Now, valuable real-time and historical production information normally only visible to Operations can be encapsulated into web parts and included in your business portal.
